Vitaly V. Zholtikov

I made my first foray into plastic surgery in my third year of university, in 1996. One day, I happened to attend a class at the Plastic Surgery Department headed by A. A. Nekrasov, who was later one of my teachers. Instantly enthralled, I became a regular there, coming weekly to watch operations and help the surgeons as an orderly. From that moment on, I knew what I wanted to do in life. I proceeded to study, attend conferences and other events, publish research, defend a thesis with the sole purpose of becoming a qualified plastic surgeon. To gain professional experience, I spent seven years performing more than 400 plastic surgeries per year at the I. I. Mechnikov Academy. In 2011, it came time to move on: I and my colleagues established Atribeaute Clinique.

Bio — plastic surgeon Vitaly Zholtikov — membership

I don’t finish an operation until I’m completely satisfied with the outcome. It is always possible to take a step back and make the most of any situation. That is when the expertise acquired over the last 19 years comes in particularly handy.

Education

Graduated from the St. Petersburg State I.P. Pavlov University of Medicine in 2000. Surgical residency at the Department of Medicine of the St. Petersburg State University in 2000-2002. Further training in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery in 2002. Certified general, maxillofacial, and plastic surgeon.

Fortunately, I get very little negative feedback. The way I see it, there is a lesson to be learned here. It is crucial to understand patients and help them as much as possible. That’s exactly what makes a truly qualified surgeon stand out: the ability to fix not only nature’s mistakes but also his or her own and other doctors.

Professional background

2002-2003: Surgeon at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic and Maxillofacial Surgery at Hospital No.29. 2003-2011: Surgeon at the Centre for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the St. Petersburg State I. I. Mechnikov Academy of Medicine. 2003-2011: Plastic surgeon at Plastic Surgery Clinic, Ltd. Since 2011: Plastic surgeon and chief of medicine at the Academy of Plastic Surgery, Medical Cosmetology and Aesthetic Dentistry, Atribeaute Clinique.

Today, niche surgeons specializing in no more than three types of surgery achieve the best results. That is my preferred strategy: lately, I’ve been focusing on rhinoplasty, mammaplasty, and blepharoplasty.

Specialization

rhinoplasty
mammaplasty
blepharoplasty
other aesthetic and reconstructive surgery

I am interested in the top level, questions in need of an answer, the cutting edge of our profession.
